Illumina wanted to create an awareness video on Utah’s Public Health Lab Infectious Disease Surveillance program and the use of next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms.
Genomic surveillance helps public health officials track the path of a pandemic, perform contact tracing, determine the rate of pathogen evolution, and understand if a pathogen is changing in ways that could impact transmission, diagnostics, immune escape, or therapeutic effectiveness.
